Indonesia: A man tries to eject his wife from the ferry

Horrifying footage shows the moment a husband throws his wife off a ferry to the shock of other passengers.

The ferry was crossing the Sunda Strait in Indonesia when a man on board hearing "whispers" suddenly picked up his wife as she was packing her bag and carried her to the edge.

Fortunately, the woman was able to hold on to the ship and avoid falling into the watery depths below as people rushed to her rescue.

The sickening 40-second clip released by police on February 24 shows the man hiding nearby before attempting the gruesome act.

Cradling his wife in his arms, he nonchalantly walks over to the fence and throws her away.

The woman was saved after clinging to the barrier and getting help from nearby people while her husband just watched nearby.

The man is said to have been going through severe emotional issues and heard "whispers" telling him to try to commit the deed.

Ridho Rafika, Chief of Bakauheni Port Police Sector, said: "The attacker was suspected of being depressed because his reason was that he wanted to throw the victim into the sea, he heard a voice tell him to do it."

South Lampung Police Chief, known as AKBP Edwin, added, "Thank God his wife is safe."

Local reports indicate the incident is still being handled by South Lampung Police.
