'Impractical Jokers' Joe Gatto defends woman against anti-fur activist on video

Joe Gatto was a knight in shining armor for a woman who got scolded for a fur coat...he's filmed standing up for her and calling his enemy "shit".

The heated exchange unfolded north of the border in Montreal...and the video picks up with a woman in a fur coat ashamed of her choice of dress as she waits to cross a busy intersection with her two dogs.

Joe, the former 'Impractical Jokers' star who is currently on a comedy tour...walks up and asks the woman if she needs any help, telling the anti-fur activist to stop harassing her and "stop being a piece of shit."

Joe was Johnny-on-the-spot here...the woman is clearly pissed off trying to explain why the fur coat doesn't make her a terrible person, and the guy is pretty combative.

The fur debate doesn't seem to be Joe's problem - it's snowing and he's not wearing a fur coat to stay warm - he didn't like the way the man went after the woman.

Honestly, nowadays, you never know what these people are going to do.

Joe is a huge advocate for dog adoption, having at one point 12 of his own...so it's not like he's necessarily pro-fur; he just didn't like the way the lady was treated.
