A pair of influential twin sisters suffered a tragic car accident and only one made it out alive.

Lara Cleaver Afonso, 26, was killed in the accident after her car overturned on a bend and she was ejected from the vehicle.

The Instagram model drove while her twin sister Dara Cleaver Afonso was in the passenger seat and their cousin Vitória Molina Leite da Silva, 25, was in the back.

Lara and Dara were heading home to take part in a photo shoot the morning of the fatal accident, according to reports from Brazil.

They were returning from a ranch in Guaraci when Lara allegedly lost control on a tight turn, flipping the car.

The incident occurred on the Armando Salles de Oliveira highway between Guaraci and Olímpia in the state of Sao Paulo, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
