Reports of a deal were denied by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who said his country "does not and will not supply" arms to the two sides in conflict in Ukraine.

Quoting the content of its phone call with the Portuguese Foreign Minister, the Foreign Ministry said: "We believe that arming either side of the crisis will prolong the war, so we have not considered and don't see war as war in a good way, whether it's in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Syria or Yemen."
