Issy Wong: England beat Women's Big Bash bowler through injury

Issy Wong

The 20-year-old will be replaced by New Zealand's Hayley Jensen in the Hobart Hurricanes squad.

"It's really unfortunate for Issy the way this opportunity has come to me, but I will definitely take it with both hands," Jensen said.

Wong made his international debut this summer, winning 13 wickets in 11 matches in all formats.

England teammate Central Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix Amy Jones, however, has a Big Bash deal with Sydney Thunder.

The 29-year-old, who previously played competitively for Perth Scorchers, recently captained England against India - winning the T20 series 2-1 and losing all three games over 50.

"She is one of the best female cricketers in the world; is capable of hitting in a number of positions and is highly regarded," Thunder head coach Trevor Griffin said.
