The Securities and Exchange Commission is cracking down on crypto firms...and some high-profile celebrities — including Jake Paul, Lindsay Lohan, and Soulja Boy — who praised exchange firms while getting paid without disclosing it ...and they agreed to spit some dough to make it all go away.
Jake and Lindsay are among the celebrities named in the SEC filings on Wednesday...they are accused of illegally touting Tronix and BitTorrent. Others charged include Lil Yachty, Ne-Yo, Austin Mahone, Kendra Lust and Akon.
The SEC claims that these celebrities have not disclosed that they were paid to promote these companies.
Nearly all of the celebrities have agreed to pay a total of $400,000 to settle the costs.
