Joe Biden calls out Brittney Griner's wife, says US is 'working to secure' WNBA star's release

Joe Biden finally got in touch with Brittney Griner's wife...and, according to the White House, POTUS assured him they were doing everything they could to bring the WNBA star back to the house.

The White House said in a statement that Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris spoke with Cherelle Griner on Wednesday...this after Cherelle pleaded with U.S. officials to ask Biden to call her during the last few weeks.

“The president called Cherelle to reassure her that he is working to secure Brittney’s release as soon as possible,” the White House said…adding that Biden also read her a draft letter he planned to send to Brittney later on Wednesday.

In their statement, White House officials added that Biden told Cherelle that they are currently pursuing “every means to bring Brittney home.”

As you know, Brittney has been in a Russian prison since mid-February...after being accused of having drugs in her luggage at a Moscow airport.

Cherelle has been very vocal about speaking with Biden ahead of Brittney's trial — which began last Friday — saying last Thursday she would 'love' for the president to 'tell me he cares' .
