Jonnie Irwin: TV host says A Place in the Sun fired him after cancer diagnosis

TV presenter Jonnie Irwin has accused bosses of Channel 4 property show A Place in the Sun of dumping him after telling them he had terminal cancer.
Irwin told The Sun that Freeform Productions "paid me for the rest of the season and did not renew my contract", which left "very low".
He revealed earlier this month that his lung cancer had spread to his brain.
Freeform and C4 said "no stone was left unturned" to find a way for him to stay, but they couldn't get insurance . continue to film overseas with him, we are delighted that he has been able to remain on our team in the UK for exhibitions," the companies said in a statement. "We of course understand how hard it must be frustrating for him at this incredibly difficult time."
