Keir Starmer will accuse the Tories of creating a 'huge fatberg' of Brexit-related bureaucracy in a speech outlining Labour's plans for future relations with Brussels.

The Labor leader is set to unveil his new plan to 'Make Brexit Work', in a nod to Boris Johnson's campaign promise to 'Get Brexit Done' in 2019.

In a speech today, Mr Starmer will say Labor will not cancel Brexit and will make it clear that he will not try to join the EU single market and customs union .

But he will denounce the 'mess' created by Mr Johnson and say the Tories have 'created a huge 'fatberg' of bureaucracy, compared to the 'wet wipes island' found in the Thames.

"This is hampering the flow of British business. We are going to break this barrier," he was to say, according to remarks first made to the FT.

Mr. Starmer, who was Shadow Brexit Secretary under Jeremy Corbyn, has remained silent on his former record amid deep divisions within party ranks over the issue.
