Keown slams 'lazy' Chelsea player in loss to London rivals Arsenal

Arsenal legend Martin Keown has slammed a Chelsea player for swinging a 'lazy leg' at the ball in the build-up to the Gunners' goal in their 1-0 loss.

Gabriel Magalhaes scored the game's only goal as Arsenal won 1-0 to reclaim top spot in the Premier League table from Manchester City, who beat Fulham 2-1 on Saturday.

Chelsea striker Kai Havertz failed to clear Bukayo Saka's corner in the 63rd minute, the ball flying past Thiago Silva and Edouard Mendy before Arsenal centre-back Gabriel put it in the net.

Scott Parker and Keown both blamed Havertz for not clearing his lines and letting the ball go past him.

Former Fulham manager Parker told BT Sport: "You are always massively disappointed when you concede a free kick.

"Arsenal are certainly good at scoring goals from set pieces and that's something we prepared for [before Fulham's 2-1 defeat at the Emirates in August].

"I don't know why Havertz went so far before the corner. If he goes further he can get there, instead he starts high and then starts running back and then he has a lot to manage."

Keown added, "Kai Havertz has to do better there. He swings a lazy leg at that."

Speaking on BBC Five Live, former Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer thinks Chelsea "looked disorganized" for the majority of the game against Arsenal.

Schwarzer said: "Arsenal were the better team, certainly in the second half. They dominated a lot of it. Chelsea looked disorganized, they didn't really have a chance to get into the game Aubameyang got away with it, they really struggled.

"Broja up front struggled to keep the ball, he was offside a couple of times, they really struggled to get going, but a lot of that was down to Arsenal putting a lot of pressure on them and are certainly very confident.”

BT Sport pundit Jermaine Jenas has touted Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus as the man who caused Chelsea all sorts of trouble on Sunday, but felt the Brazilian would have had to do better with a keeper in the first half. /p>

Jenas said: "He has to score. The little play in midfield was electrifying, and that Arsenal left side caused Chelsea problems all day.

"They don't sort it out, they still manage to get Martinelli into all that space. Gabriel Jesus, unmarked, back post, he has to do better than that.

"He is playing well, even in today's game he is causing problems, his movements are excellent.

"He's got a number nine on his back, you want him to put the ball in the back of the net and he can do it, he's had a great start to the season, he's just lost that rhythm.< /p >

"And maybe that's the problem with Brazil, maybe that's also what they're considering, he started this game really well."
