Latin Mondays at Taj, one of New York's most popular salsa dances, presents Tres Del Solar Cuba Live!

Latin Mondays at Taj, hosted by Talia Castro-Pozo, has been one of New York's most popular salsa nights for over 15 years. It's Monday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. (doors at 5 p.m.). Starting at $15.

On Latin Mondays at the Taj, you can dance salsa, son, timba, bachata, merengue, cumbia, champeta, cha-cha-cha and more with top live bands and DJs New York Latins. Start your evening with dinner and a dance lesson. It's been a great date.

The crowd is completely mixed like in New York, and with all ages. There are Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Europeans, Africans and Asians. There are old Cubans who can dance you so softly. Everyone goes to Latin Mondays. The level of dancing is very high, but beginners also go there.

One of the things we've noticed is that everyone dances with everyone. This means that you will always have a good time, even if you go alone. And if you learn to dance, you learn quickly because you manage to dance with good dancers. Not all dance parties are like this. Credit goes to host Talia Castro-Pozo.

We would much rather dance in a restaurant or bar than in a dance studio. This is where New York salseros go on Monday nights. Dancers must dance.

Among NYC dance communities, Monday nights attract people who really love to dance.

Doors open just after work at 5 p.m. You can make dinner reservations by calling (212) 620-3033 or texting (917) 620-3109. There are tables for party groups. The food is pretty good and there are tapas-style plates to share with friends. The party starts with a free salsa dance lesson at 7 p.m. There are two sets of live music and salsa DJs rock the floor until 1am.

The party celebrates its quinceanera (15th anniversary) in November 2022. As it is a Latin holiday, we celebrate all year round.

Talia Castro Pozo

Talia Castro-Pozo is a dance producer, actress and classical ballerina from Peru. She is also a very good dance teacher, who can dance just about anything. You might notice her gorgeous smile on TV and in ad campaigns. She organizes several salsa parties, including some for New York itself. Talia is La Reina de la Salsa Baile de Nueva York (the queen of New York salsa dancing).

Most people think of Peru as the heart of the Incas, the great empire of South America. That's it, but Peru also has a festejo dance tradition that resembles Cuban rumba, Haitian meringue, Dominican merengue, Puerto Rican bomba, Colombian cumbia, and other Latin traditions that have mixed together to salsa in New York. Talia Castro-Pozo has salsa in her blood.

Groups

All the Latin dance groups in New York want to play Latin Mondays at the Taj. Here are some of them.
