Dave rapped on stage with a delighted fan while becoming the youngest headliner of Leeds Festival on Saturday.

"I feel like I should share this moment with one of you for the last time," the 24-year-old Londoner said.

He then brought in an energetic young Merseysider, to viral sensation Alex from Glastonbury he several years ago, to perform the track Thiago Silva.

Earlier, American star Megan Thee Stallion invited "sexy girls and guys" from the audience for a dirty dance.

The Texas hip-hop sensation also made history by becoming the first black female co-headliner of the event.

Funky Saturday

Dave is a born storyteller and clearly now made for the main stage.

He arrived wearing a matching green tank top and shorts, with a "Psycho" cap. And backed by a marching band with added strings and brass, located behind a large heart-shaped metal cage, began to speak its truth.

" It's on the way," he said, displayed in black and white on large screens. "I want to take you guys on a journey."

Ne stopping only briefly due to a health and safety issue in the crowd, he coolly performed songs from his Mobo award-winning recent record We're All Alone in this Together, one of the best-selling albums of the year, which tackles the themes of loneliness, mental health and racism in the UK.

As well as material from his album Psychodrama (hence the cap), Brit Award and Mercury Prize winner, which explores issues surrounding grief, domestic violence and the incarceration of his brother.
