Expect Lil Nas X to make some noise at the MTV Video Music Awards on August 28th. The 'Industry Baby' rapper — who's not afraid to speak out what he thinks has been overlooked by other award shows — joins Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar to lead the list of 2022 nominees. The nominations, revealed today (July 26), see Jack and Nas X for Video of the Year, while the two will compete for Artist of the Year. Kendrick will actually be competing against himself for Best Cinematography (“Family Ties,” “N95”). His "The Heart Part 5" is also nominated for Video For Good and Best Visual Effects.

Doja Cat and Harry Styles both picked up 6 nominations, while Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd scored 5 each. This year's nominations see 26 nominees for the first time, with Baby Keem, Gayle, Måneskin, Kacey Musgraves, Tems, Wet Leg, Karol G, Dove Cameron, Becky G and more all picking up nominations. Meanwhile, Madonna becomes the only artist to be nominated in each of the VMAs' five decades, as she earned her 69th (nice) nomination for "MADAME X."
