Lionesses' Mary Earps hailed for 'brilliant' Sky Sports TV debut over Man City 3-2 Liverpool

England goalkeeper Mary Earps was widely praised for her expertise on Sky Sports during the Carabao Cup Round of 16 tie between Manchester City and Liverpool. One of the Lionesses' heroines of the summer swapped gloves for the TV camera at the Etihad Stadium as Man City eliminated the holders with a 3-2 victory.

Kevin De Bruyne bounced back from the World Cup disappointment with a sensational performance, providing two sublime assists to Erling Haaland and Nathan Ake either side of Riyad Mahrez's superb touch and finish. Fabio Carvalho and Mohamed Salah equalized twice for Liverpool but it wasn't enough as both teams resumed their seasons with a bang.

Earps joined Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and Mark Chapman in the Sky studio to cover the mammoth clash. It marked the latest culmination of an incredible 24 hours, during which she was named in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Team of the Year and ranked 48th in The Guardian's Top Female Footballers in 2022.

And she impressed viewers with her insight, analysis and composure in a new setting before, during and after Man City's triumph. Many took to social media to send messages of support and praise for the Manchester United goalkeeper for her performance before she stormed off to complete the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw.
