Love Is Blind: Netflix sued for allegedly inhuman working conditions
A contestant on the second series of Netflix show Love Is Blind is suing the streaming service for alleged violations of labor laws.
Jeremy Hartwell alleges producers encouraged actors to drink alcohol, while limiting access to food and water and underpaying them.
The production company Kinetic Content told Variety that Mr. Hartwell's allegations were "absolutely unfounded".
"We will vigorously defend it,” a spokesperson added.
Netflix has also been contacted by the BBC for comment.
The lawsuit, filed in California Superior Court in Los Angeles, names both Netflix and Kinetic Content as defendants alongside Kinetic's casting company Delirium TV.
In Love Is Blind, the contestants meet their dates but cannot see each other and must converse only through loudspeakers.
The candidates then form a couple but must get engaged before they can meet face to face. Some couples end up getting married on screen while others break up.
