Luxury motorhome 'seized by police investigating SNP finances' after Peter Murrell's arrest

A luxury motorhome was reportedly seized by police investigating SNP finances.

A Niesmann+Bischoff motorhome was seized from 'a house in Fife at the same time police searched the home of Nicola Sturgeon and her husband, Peter Murrell, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The same camping pattern -car can sell for around £110,000.

Mr. Murrell, the party's former chief executive, was arrested on Wednesday by police investigating spending of around £600,000 on an independence campaign.

He was released later in the day pending further investigation. .

< p>As well as the home of Mr Murrell and Ms Sturgeon near Glasgow, Police Scotland officers also searched the SNP headquarters in Edinburgh and removed boxes of items.

The ongoing inquiry has been described by SNP Chairman Mike Russell as the party's biggest crisis in 50 years.

On Saturday, Ms Sturgeon spoke publicly for the first time since her husband's arrest, speaking to reporters outside her home.

In a brief statement, she said the past few days had been "obviously difficult" and that she would "cooperate fully" with the police investigation.

She said Mr Murrell was at home but 'couldn't say anything' about his arrest during the ongoing investigation.

“Again, this is not necessarily a question of choice. That's just the nature of it all,' she added.

The Glasgow Southside MSP said she intended to 'carry on with her life and my work, like you you expect me to.”
