Tainan Anadou manufacturer Mu Zuo creates exceptionally cute wooden toys and transforms them into complex autonomy of everyday life. Featuring bears, elephants, geese, the occasional human, and many other creatures, each piece is a three-dimensional still life.

Jonathan Minchin will share his innovative vision of global ecology at Maker Faire Taipei. A multidisciplinary architectural designer and creator, Jonathan works between the built environment and digital fabrication with a particular focus on rural contexts. He founded the Green Fab Lab at Valldaura Labs, IAAC campus in Barcelona in 2013 and is currently the project manager of a European program Horizon 2020 which develops tools for agriculture resilient to climate change; and (ROMI) Robotics for Microfarms, which develops open technologies to help organic and diverse vegetable growers, and which he will focus on in his presentation at Maker Faire Taipei.

ROMI is a four-year European-funded research project that is committed to promoting sustainable, local and human-scale agriculture. The objective is to develop an open-source, affordable, versatile and suitable platform to support organic and polyculture vegetable farms. Diversified small vegetable farms have an important role to play in sustainable food production. Installed near cities, they provide healthy vegetables at affordable prices via short circuits.
