Police arrested an angry man who called them 2,060 times in nine days to "harass" them.

Officers from Saitama Prefectural Police Headquarters in Japan say they were repeatedly assaulted by a man who just called them to say they needed to be fired.

The enraged caller - a 67-year-old Kawagachi resident - also called the officers "tax thieves" and "big stupid assholes".

Between September 30 and October 8, he called the service 2,060 times, which equates to approximately one call every six minutes.

Police say they lost about 27 hours on the phone with the angry man, which they say means he is guilty of obstructing police activity.
