Man Utd and Chelsea learn of Harry Kane's new asking price as Tottenham forward's preference revealed

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set a new asking price for Harry Kane amid reports linking him with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Kane initially looked likely to leave Spurs in 2021 as he wanted to maximize his chances of winning team trophies before retiring.

Man City were linked with him but they were unwilling to meet the £150million asking price announced by Tottenham.

Pep Guardiola's side ended up pulling out of the race to sign Kane and they ended up with Erling Halaand and Julian Alvarez instead.

Kane seems happier working under Antonio Conte than he was before, but his contract ends in 2024.

He seems to be keeping his options open with him to commit his future to Tottenham.

The striker has been linked with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in recent months, but Ben Jacobs has revealed he 'doesn't necessarily want to leave the Premier League'.

Jacobs also said Kane's price will be 'over £100m' next summer.

"We know there has been historic interest from Bayern Munich, but I've been told on a fairly regular basis that Kane isn't convinced to go to Germany," Jacobs wrote for Caught Offside .

"People tend to put two and two together because Bayern more often than not will end the season with something in their trophy cabinet, and of course they would have Champions League football.< /p>

‘However, there are two problems – the transfer fee is difficult for Bayern, and Kane himself does not necessarily want to leave the Premier League.

'Real Madrid have also been linked with Kane, but again they won't pay the type of transfer fee that has been quoted for Kane.

"It's not £200m anymore, but it's still over £100m for someone approaching their 30s, and I don't think Real Madrid see any value in that ."

Jacobs thinks Man City and Chelsea 'could get into the conversation' over Kane but he 'wants to re-sign with Spurs'.

"I think right now he wants to re-sign with Spurs, but if that changes I think Manchester United and Chelsea could come into the conversation," Jacobs added.

'Chelsea owners are big fans of Harry Kane, but that doesn't mean he will be bought or sold.

He added: "There is no evidence that Daniel Levy would like, if it is his only option, to sell Kane to a Premier League rival. The Man City transfer saga shows this to some extent .

“The last thing to say about Kane is that the contract is running, so Spurs have a little less influence than during this Man City saga.

“Still, I don't think there is any panic, they are calm about it – they have been reassured that Kane is happy and wants to stay at the club.”
