Transfer gossip: Man Utd told to pay €125m for duo, De Jong 'totally rules out' reunion

The Mirror is now reporting that Martinez is 'ready to force' a move to Man Utd this summer.

The player is even said to be "ready to go to war" with Ajax for his exit. He 'may even refuse to train' if the Dutch side cannot reach an agreement with United.

The English side have offered £43m for the centre-back, who is valued at around £50m. The report adds that Martinez is "losing patience" and wants the "deal to be completed within the next 48 hours".

Elsewhere, Chelsea are currently "the only club" that will realistically sign Man Utd star Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio.

He said: "It's hard to say what is the right choice for him because I thought Manchester United would have been the right choice for him. Because he came home.

"He really wants to play in the Champions League. His goal is to continue with his Champions League records. His agent is trying to find the best solution for him for next season. That's why he is talking to some clubs .

"Chelsea are entering a new era and while this is 'just' an image deal for the new owner and chairman, it could be something the whole world could talk about.

"He could play the Champions League with new 'emotions and ambitions'. I don't think there are any other great solutions for him at the moment.

"PSG won't sign him because they have Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. It's hard to find another club that will give him the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

"Italy is impossible for him. So I think Chelsea could suit him. But it depends on him and what he wants. If he wants to play in the Premier League and the Champions League, Chelsea are the only club at the moment."
