A stalker who tried to kidnap a woman to marry her murdered her in front of her daughter and niece.

She refused to go with the man, but now he has been sentenced to death by hanging.

The deceased woman is Farah Hamza, 32, and she was killed in Sabah Al-Salem, Kuwait in April 2021 by an unnamed man who was a member of the Kuwaiti military.

According to the court, he wanted to marry the woman, but she rejected his efforts.

He continued to make advances and even installed a tracking device on her car so he could follow what she was doing.

The man used the same tracking device to identify his car and attempted to kidnap the woman, who was already married, as part of his plan to force her to marry him.

Yet when she refused to go with him, he stabbed her to death in front of her two children.

They would have been his niece and his own children, then fled.

He was jailed for life, but the latest decision by the Court of Cassation, overseen by Judge Abdullah Al-Jassem, said that was too lenient.

The judge sentenced him to death, quashing the life sentence that had been handed down on the grounds that the premeditated aspect of the murder could not be proven.

The prosecutor and the defendant had appealed, the former demanding the death penalty and the latter demanding that the sentence be further reduced.

The court heard that the already married woman repeatedly complained about the stalker, but declined to take no for an answer.

Her lifeless body was later left outside a hospital, but she did not survive the attack, which occurred during the holy month of Ramadan.

The news of Farah's death sparked public outrage, with more than 200 people gathering to mourn the victim and demand harsher sentences for the violence committed again...
