Marcus Rashford leads Europe's top scorers in 2023 with seven goals

Kylian Mbappe led the list of top scorers of 2022 with six goals from the old man at Barcelona. But he couldn't win the France World Cup, stupid fraud.

He is already in the running for the 2023 annual scorers award (which doesn't actually exist).

Criteria: All club goals in all competitions for clubs in the top five leagues.

10) Victor Osimhen – Napoli (4 goals) Four goals in four Serie A games in 2023 have catapulted him to the top of the Serie A goalscoring charts and into the attention of big European clubs, with Manchester United very interested in the Nigerian as a long-term striker solution.

9) Erling Haaland - Manchester City (4 goals) That's it? Frankly, we are embarrassed for him. His stats are quite decent, though.

8) Eddie Nketiah – Arsenal (4 goals) No one saw it coming. And no one else on this list has scored twice against Manchester United and Oxford United.

7) Rasmus Højlund – Atalanta (4 goals) The Danish striker has scored three of his four Serie A goals so far this year.

6) Robert Lewandowski – Barcelona (4 goals) Shows classic stats against fifth-tier AD Cueta, but expect him to climb up that ranking when cleared to play in La Liga again .

5) Riyad Mahrez - Manchester City (5 goals) "Since we came back for the World Cup, he's been playing really, really well," said Pep Guardiola, who saw the Algerian score five goals in 2023 , all against Tottenham or Chelsea.

4) Kylian Mbappe - PSG (5 goals) Now that's stat stuff; the five goals were scored against US Pays de Cassel, outside the league. This follows two Ligue Un games in which Mbappe failed to score and PSG lost to see their Ligue Un lead reduced.

3) Wissam Ben Yedder – Monaco (5 goals) A hat-trick against Ajaccio meant 11 league goals this season for the Frenchman who didn't even make the World Cup squad.

1) Ademola Lookman - Atalanta (6 goals) You didn't expect that, did you? He has already scored more goals this season for Atalanta than in two Premier League loan seasons at Fulham and Leicester City. A goal every 53 minutes in 2023, right?

2) Marcus Rashford – Manchester United (7 goals) Seven goals in seven games. The man is on fire.
