Marina Moscone RTW Spring 2024

« I don't know if you saw on the news, but a few months ago there was water Statues of nymphs from England over 200 years old – kids took colored pencils and ruined them, but I thought it was so beautiful,” Marina Moscone said at a meet in a showroom. The idea of "coloring outside the lines" has inspired the designer this season, with images of the stone statues, now covered in bright blue scribbles, featured on her mood board alongside Cy Twombly's scribbled paper works and brightly colored mohair chair sculptures by Liam Lee.

Moscone often references his love of art as inspiration for his collections, but for spring, she dove deeper into her crafty mind. The result was a collection filled with a lovely juxtaposition of arty and sartorial designs with a selection of his signature minimalist, masculine and feminine designs.

For example, Moscone's hand-drawn polka dot print, visible on her cable-knit dress signature silk twill, peeking through laser-cut sheaths, and transformed into high-tension thread embroidery on briefs. The flowing silhouettes extended to luxe pajama-inspired loungewear (stellar in painterly green with hand-drawn micro floral designs) alongside a versatile tabard wrap dress that could be worn five ways.

Moscone's bias-cut ruffles (as seen on the hem of a crop top or over the spaghetti sleeves of a brief) and a straight U-neck satin sheath adorned with resin tears (each hand-cast) provided a strong, playful balance with its well-known, sharp menswear-inspired cut , like the season's new boyfriend blazer with cape-style sleeves. or a pinched basque blazer with satin lapels.
