Cuban recently appeared on the 'Club Random with Bill Maher' podcast when the pair began discussing wealth and how their lives have changed since then. that they have become prominent in their respective industries.

The duo explained that having money has given them the ability to do what they want, when they want, something that Cuba refers to as a gift.

Talking about what the "best part" of being rich is, Cuban said the answer is "time".

"I can control my time," he said.

Yet he wasn't always rich. When Cuban was in his twenties and first moved to Dallas from Indiana, he told Maher he didn't have much to his name, so he offered a grocery saving tip. money.

By eating out of hours, he could get lower prices on easily perishable items. Since most grocery stores cannot put items like cooked poultry back on the shelves that will expire in the morning, some sellers will reduce prices later.

"I used to go to the grocery store at midnight because they dropped the price of chicken and those big fries to $1.29," Cuban told Maher of his late night shopping. "And I'd buy a bunch of them."

The billionaire also opened up about his love of canned cheese and the unsanitary way he consumed it and then left it to unsuspecting customers.

"I would take the Cheez Whiz, open the top, [eat it], and put it back," Cuban said.

Cuba's current net worth is estimated at $4.6 billion, which tells us he probably won't be running midnight errands anymore.
