Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Star Wars: Ahsoka's Role Revealed

Mary Elizabeth Winstead's next role in the Star Wars Disney+ series Ahsoka has reportedly been revealed.

According to a report from the Bespin Bulletin, the Birds of Prey star - who joined the cast of the upcoming series earlier this year - is set to play fan-favorite Hera Syndulla. This name will be familiar to Star Wars Rebels fans, as a character who plays a major role in the Disney XD series.

Although little is known about Winstead's portrayal, the character of Syndulla is an important character in Star Wars. Hera served as the main character in Star Wars: Rebels, where she often piloted the Ghost and carried out various missions against the Empire, which often resulted in Hera clashing with characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn. She also appears in a number of books and games, such as Star Wars: Squadrons. Hera had a big impact on the beginnings of the rebellion and becomes Ahsoka's friend early in their story.

Rosario Dawson stars as Ahsoka Tano in the limited series after the character made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. Ahsoka should continue the character's story. Joining Dawson is Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, along with Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno and Ray Stevenson.

The limited series is written by Dave Filoni, who serves as executive producer with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy.
