Mbappé turns down €300m move to Saudi Arabia as Real Madrid move closer, reports

July 27 - The Kylian Mbappé saga continues after the French superstar reportedly rejected a world-record offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal.

Paris St Germain have allowed the Saudi Pro League side to speak with Mbappe after they reportedly received a €300m offer in writing for the player.

According to French sports newspaper L'Equipe, Mbappé and his team refused to even start talks, sparking further speculation that he would eventually end up at Real Madrid, his preferred destination.

Mbappé's future at PSG has been uncertain since he told the club in June that he would not be extending his existing contract until 2025, meaning he would become a free agent next summer and could discuss a pre-contract deal with another club as early as January.

PSG have not confirmed reports that Mbappé snubbed Al Hilal's approach, but are known to be keen to cash in now, if he doesn't sign an extension, rather than signing him. let go for free in one year when his contract expires.

Meanwhile, Al-Hilal have finalized the signing of Brazilian Malcom on a four-year contract. The 26-year-old winger has played the last four seasons for Zenit Saint Petersburg.

Financial details were not disclosed although last week Zenit CEO Alexandr Medvedev said Al-Hilal would pay 60 million euros for the transfer. He becomes Al-Hilal's fourth signing this summer after Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves.
