Country singer LeAnn Rimes will also join Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am as coaches on the reality singing competition.

Jones and Fletcher will jointly occupy fourth place, and will both have to agree to turn the chair.

Both men said being on The Voice "was going to be epic", adding that they were "ready for the challenge".

The move follows in the footsteps of American version of The Voice, which previously announced that country duo Dan and Shay would jointly occupy a chair. The format of the show sees the coaches turn away from the contestants - so that they can judge them solely on the quality of their singing.

Then, if they wish to mentor the singer until the next stage of the competition, they press the button on their chair - which rotates it and allows them to see and interact with the contestant.
