Metaverse Game Studios pulls the trigger to use ImmutableX for its first Web3 MMORPG, Angelic. The indie game developer is made up of industry veterans with a history on games like Far Cry, League of Legends, Diablo Immortal and more.

ImmutableX is the preferred development platform for building and scaling Web3 games on Etherium.

"We are incredibly lucky to have found a partner who shares the same values as Angelic," MGS's Anastasia Volgemut said in a statement to GamesBeat. "By leveraging ImmutableX, our users can experience the benefits of fast, secure, gas-free typing and an uninterrupted, quality gaming experience."

Metaverse Game Studios just completed a $10 million seed round that closed in March 2022. It's primarily using that money to fuel Angelic's next stage of growth. It also uses funding to ensure that the Angelic experience is as smooth as possible for every user.

Angelic features the amazing visuals provided by Unreal Engine 5. This is a dark sci-fi themed narrative strategy role-playing game with turn-based combat. The game takes place in a collaborative universe, with integrated blockchain elements.

Angelic tries to bridge the gap between regular players and Web3 players. It focuses on building a dynamic and engaging world with fun gameplay. It is "chain independent", which means that it is hosted off the blockchain. But it has the ability to connect to different chains through a custom backend, thanks to ImmutableX.

"It's great to see prominent AAA-level game companies like Metaverse Games Studios actively embracing digital ownership and player-driven game models," said Immutable's Andrew Sorokovsky. "We are excited to offer ImmutableX's full suite of tools and solutions and to work with their team to deliver the fairest, most inclusive and innovative Web3 experience possible for all Angelic gamers."

Angelic is holding an alpha test for select community members and partners around the end of January 2023. The public launch of Angelic will take place in February 2023. Alpha test players and NFT holders will be able to redeem their NFTs when the game launches.
