Michael Pena's 'End of Watch' fight compared to viral Cop Brawl clip

TMZ Composite

Michael Pena might have flashbacks watching this...a cop shaking hands with an unarmed civilian and losing his own gear to be on equal footing.

Discover this savage fight between a policeman and an ordinary schmoe from the street... where they both decide to face off and solve the problem they have. It's pretty crazy - the cop takes off his vest (but still keeps his gun) to properly throw it away.

They trade minor blows for quite a while, with the cop seeming to have the upper hand - he's way bigger to start with - and the dude in green comes back for more with every round.

In the end, they seem to leave their differences on the sidewalk...seemingly without further incident. Of course, many pointed out that this doesn't seem to have happened in the United States, where a civilian would surely be arrested for being scrapped with a cop.

Of course, the other observation here...this sounds a lot like a scene from the 2012 movie "End of Watch," which both Pena and Jake Gyllenhaal star in...where they play temperamental cops. At one point in the film, Pena's character, Mike Zavala, gets into a fight with a suspect.

Just like the cop here, he loses a bunch of armor and so on - and then lets the fists fly! Talk about life imitating art... or whatever.
