Michèle Lamy is cooking up a storm with Matchesfashion during Frieze Week

LONDON — Breakfast is served by Michèle Lamy.

The Owenscorp co-founder and artist collaborated with Matchesfashion's 5 Carlos Place townhouse in London on the Michmatch Cafe, a breakfast until Thursday as part of Frieze Art Fair.

A bespoke menu including lunch and afternoon tea was designed by the Lamy's close collaborator and friend, Isis Neal, formerly third executive chef at Les Deux Cafe, the Los Angeles restaurant that has hosted the likes of Madonna, Lenny Kravitz, Sofia Coppola, Tom Ford and many more.

The menu is printed on a cotton napkin with Lamy's jewelry mouth open.

The list of dishes includes sourdough toast with butter, blackberry jam and honey the Palais Bourbon; Anchovy finger sandwiches with tarragon aioli and smoked salmon with crème fraîche, and scrambled eggs with a choice of spinach, herbs, sautéed mushrooms, Gruyère cheese, chives and truffle.

"There was nothing to make a statement, but I felt it was in the "spirit of people understanding each other. It was absolutely nice to be part of the fair without being there, but I think my art is to bring people together," she said. /p>

Lamy, who lives between Venice, Paris and Los Angeles with her fashion designer husband Rick Owens, n 'a I haven't visited London since the pandemic.

"He's making a comeback and it's the same feeling as when I made my first bar here," she says of the town, reminiscing about when she set up a boxing gym in The Corner Shop of Selfridges.
