Rapper Migos Takeoff was killed by a "stray bullet", his record company said in a statement.

The 28-year-old, Grammy-nominated musician died Tuesday in a shooting at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas.

Rendering tribute, his label said in a statement: "Senseless violence and a stray bullet took another life out of this world and we are devastated. the target.

He added, "From what people say he is highly respected, non-violent.

"I wouldn't expect him to be involved but I want to wait for the investigation - but we have no reason to believe he was involved in anything he was a criminal at the time, just like people describe him as very peaceful, loving, a great artist."

He begged the witnesses from the scene to come forward.

"Please intervene, give us the information so that we can put an end to this family who is suffering at the moment", he said at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
