Miles Teller reacts to his grandmother's campaign to be the next James Bond

If Hollywood calls, Miles Teller would gladly play James Bond. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 'Top Gun: Maverick' star revealed he's on board with his grandmother's campaign to make him the next 007. ET spoke to the actor between rounds of golf at the American Century Championship presented by American Century Investments in South Lake Tahoe, CA.

"Yeah. I mean, yeah perfect," he said of Bond's role. "I think we're actors, you know, so maybe you can mix it up a bit."

On June 29, Leona Flowers started campaigning for her grandson to become the next James Bond on Twitter. However, she didn't stop at just one tweet - at last count, Flowers had tweeted more than 10 times about Teller's qualifications for the role, touting everything from his acting skills to his British and Irish ancestry.

“They are looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig in future 007 movies,” Flowers tweeted. "I think my grandson, Miles Teller, has proven he has everything they were looking for - talent, looks, strength, global appeal and oh, so cool. He can be that guy!! Wouldn't he not great?"

When James Bond fans noted that Teller was American rather than British, Flowers quickly dismissed their arguments insisting that his grandson's talent and heritage should more than qualify him to fulfill the 007 shoes. "Miles is very proud of his genetic connection to the British Isles," she tweeted in response to a fan.
