Voters are now demanding a general election as Rishi Sunak's government drowns in squalor.

More than half want to go to the polls to have a say in who runs the country.

The survey, conducted for the Mirror by Redfield and Wilton, shows that around four in 10 people (41%) think the Prime Minister does not have a mandate to govern. Only 31% disagree.

Mr. Sunak was handed the keys to No10 in October without a single vote being cast by Tory MPs, party members or the public.

He rejected the Conservatives' 2019 election manifesto as well as the promises he made during the leadership race this summer.

Asked which party they associate with sleaze, 38% said the Conservatives, compared to just 9% who chose Labour. About a fifth (19%) said both parties, while 11% chose neither.

The Prime Minister, who celebrated 100 days in office today, has promised to lead a government with "integrity, professionalism and accountability" at all levels.
