Supporting MPs have pocketed more than £82,000 in VIP tickets to concerts and sporting events in just two months, while Britons scramble to pay their bills.

In June and July, 65 MPs hospitably accepted free tickets to events including Wimbledon, Glastonbury, the British Grand Prix and concerts by Ed Sheeran, Adele and the Rolling Stones.< /p>

Mirror analysis found Tory MPs declared more than double the gifts in value, with 42 Tory MPs accepting £54,033 worth of tickets.

In comparison, only 20 Labor MPs declared gifts, worth a total of £24,621.

Expensive tickets, many of which were for sold-out events and included VIP hospitality, were provided by sporting bodies - such as the Football Association and Lawn Tennis Association, private companies such as drinks distributor Diageo and oil giant BP, and lobby groups. including the Betting and Gaming Council, UK Music.

Some 15 MPs declared tickets with a combined value of £13,258 for Wimbledon, while 11 declared a hospitality value of £9,657 at Royal Ascot.

Among them was Labour's Conor McGinn, who was present in his capacity as chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Horse Racing.

Curators Brandon Lewis, Helen Grant, Laura Farris and Laurence Robertson also declared free tickets for the races - with Mr Robertson attending two days in a row.

Nine more received declared hospitality at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, worth £15,596.
