MTV VMAs: Taylor Swift announces new album as she wins top prize

Taylor Swift announced new album as she scooped top prize at MTV V ideo Musi c Awards (VMA) on Sunday.

The singer took home several awards at the event including the coveted Best Video for All Too Well (10-Minute Version).

Swift said she was "very honored" to win the prize and took the opportunity to announce to fans that her next album Midnights will be released on October 21.

Other winners were Billie Eilish, Lizzo and Harry Styles, while Johnny Depp made a pre-recorded appearance.

Swift made his announcement in the final moments of the show, hosted by Nicki Minaj, Jack Harlow and LL Cool J.< /p>

Accepting the top prize of the night, the singer said, "I'm so honored to be recognized alongside such incredible artists and directors.

"I'm so proud of what we've done and with every second of this moment and we w I couldn't have made this short film if it was not for the fans."
