Music Industry on the Move: Halsey Signs Global Publishing Deal with BMG

Halsey has signed a new global publishing administration agreement with BMG. The new deal includes all of their future songwriting compositions, as well as the recently released single "So Good" and their collaboration with Calvin Harris "Stay With Me", which features Justin Timberlake and Pharrell.

"I'm thrilled to announce this partnership with BMG," said Halsey. "I was immediately drawn to their artist and songwriter mentality and can't wait to take this journey with my new BMG family."

Jason Aron and Anthony Li, Halsey's co-managers at Anti-Pop, commented: " The creativity and refreshing approach to publishing is very exciting. Thomas and his team around the world have welcomed us with open arms. We appreciate their passion and dedication to putting artists first."

Prior to this agreement, Halsey's recorded music and publishing was handled by Universal's Capitol Records Music Group and Universal Music Publishing Group.

+ Country Music Hall of Fame and museum historian Michael Gray has been promoted to vice president museum services. He fills the role of Brenda Colladay, who joined the organization as Vice President of Museum Services in 2018. She will remain on the team until mid-January to help with the transition.

Gray, who most recently served as Senior Executive Director of Writing and Interpretation, will be responsible for the care and management of the museum's artifact collections and archives. He will also be responsible for overseeing all planning, design and installation of exhibitions in the museum's gallery spaces, as well as the museum's online exhibitions and digital archives.

Gray added, "I've been blessed to spend the last two decades at the museum surrounded by a world-class collection, steeped in the educational and public programs we offer, and enhanced by talented and collaborative colleagues who are dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of this diverse and important art form."

Gray recently spoke with Variety about the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's new exhibition, "Western Edge: The Roots and Reverberations of Los Angeles Country-Rock."

In his elevated role, Bonner will continue to be "hands-on with customers while being more immersed in a internal leadership role," according to the company's news announcement. Prior to assuming his new role, Bonner served as an account executive.
