NCSoft Reveals VARCO AI Language Models

NCSoft today announced the launch of a group of AI language models under the generic name VARCO LLM. It includes four language models and generative AI services powered by these language models. Specifically, three of the generative AI services provided by VARCO aim to improve the efficiency of game development. According to the company, VARCO stands for "Via AI, Realize your Creativity and Originality".

The four major VARCO language models are categorized as "Foundation, Prompt, Dialogue, and Generative". It has launched "Small and Medium VARCO LLMs" in Korean, while English and bilingual versions will be launched later. He plans to eventually power several AI-based projects with VARCO, including "digital humans, generative AI platforms, and conversational language models".

NCSoft has also launched three generative AI services powered by VARCO LLM, collectively known as VARCO Studio. These include VARCO Art, a text-to-image generator; VARCO Text, a text generation management platform; and VARCO Human, a digital tool for human creation and management. The three services are collectively designed to help streamline elements of game design and development.

Jehee Lee, Director of Research at NCSoft, said in a statement, "VARCO exhibits the highest level of performance among other Korean models of similar sizes available today. NCSOFT will leverage VARCO to deliver a new value and original experiences in various fields as well as game content development.”
