New teaser for the restored Anvil re-release! Anvil' Doc's story

“An inspiring fable for our time.” Utopia has unveiled a new trailer for a restored re-release of a 2008 rock documentary titled Anvil! Anvil's story. Some of you might remember it - it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008 and was a huge hit during Sundance. But it took a while for any distributor to buy it and release it - it wasn't until later in 2009 that it opened (we talked about that!). “If you had told me all those years ago at Sundance, when we had no buyers, that this movie would hit theaters for the second time 13 years later, I would never have believed you, but we We're here. It's truly a miracle," says the director. Since 1978, Canadian heavy metal band Anvil have become one of rock's most influential yet commercially unsuccessful bands. In 2006, after a fledgling European tour, Anvil sets out to record their thirteenth album and continue to follow their dreams. And filmmaker Sacha Gervasi was there to capture it all. "As well as being a brilliant filmmaker, Sacha was in the right place at the right time. and managed to deliver audiences a truly inspiring film that has stood the test of time." Time to revisit and enjoy again.

Anvil! The Anvil story follows Canadian heavy metal band Anvil as they delivered a hugely influential 1982 album, Metal on Metal, which would inspire Anthrax and Metallica, then leave the chart to begin what would become decades of work. in darkness. Director and former Anvil roadie Sacha Gervasi follows guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow and drummer Robb Reiner as they stumble through a harrowing European tour and reflect on failure, friendship, resilience and to the will to make even the most impossible dreams come true. Anvil! The Anvil Story is directed by British filmmaker Sacha Gervasi, an Anvil roadie and screenwriter of The Big Tease and The Terminal previously. It was his first film before directing the films Hitchcock and November Criminals. This first premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival and was eventually released by Abramorama in 2009 in select US theaters.
