Newzoo released its 2022 final report this week, forecasting the final numbers for the games industry in 2022. the market correction. It also predicts some numbers for 2023, although its numbers may change like 2022.

The report reiterates numbers previously forecast by Newzoo for the 2022 market. It forecasts the 2022 market to generate $184.4 billion, down 4.3% year-over-year. It also predicts that mobile games will generate $92.2 billion, down 6.4%. He's already reported those two numbers. Of all the gaming markets, PC is the only one where it predicts growth, especially in downloaded or physical titles.

Tom Wijman, Senior Gaming Analyst at Newzoo, said in a statement: "We see 2022 as a corrective year after two years of lockdown-fueled growth for the market. Looking back on our pre-pandemic forecast for the games market (as of January 2020), revenue in 2020 and 2021 was much higher than expected, while 2022 is slightly lower This revised forecast may seem like a setback for the games market, but the sum of revenue generated from 2020 to 2022 is nearly $43 billion higher than we originally projected before the pandemic."

The report also lists the top 10 games across all platforms, ranked by their monthly active user count. Of all the games, the only title of 2022 is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The others were more persistent titles like Roblox, Minecraft, and Fortnite.
