This campaign was a different story as Wind succumbed to a hamstring injury that limited him to just over 30 minutes on opening day, but the striker is still looking to the future .

During an interview with Bulinews, Wind mentioned Arsenal as his 'dream destination' without any prompting.

"I didn't have anything concrete to deal with," he said when asked if there was any interest in his services this summer.

"I've only been here a little over six months and I'm happy with my time at the club so far, so I'm not thinking about moving at all.

"But if we look to the future, Arsenal would be a dream destination for me because they have always been my favorite club," he said.

"In general, I think the Premier League is the best league in the world, and it would be exciting to play there.

"But like I said, that's not what I'm focusing on right now. I'm fine here at Wolfsburg, it's a good club for me and the Bundesliga is a great league in which one to play.

"Right now I'm just focusing on my performance here, then we'll see if I'm good enough to take the next step in the future."

Wind has teased that a move to the Premier League might suit him, touting the virtues of the 'higher tempo' in the Bundesliga.

“I think I settled in quickly,” he said. "I was happy that everything went so well for me, especially because I had stories about other players, who needed time to get used to their new surroundings.

“I got a lot of confidence from the coach early on and was put straight into the lineup which helped me and gave me a lot of confidence.

"I feel like I've improved with every practice and every game.

"There is a much higher pace in the Bundesliga than in the Superliga, so I had to increase the intensity of my own game to match that of my team-mates and opponents.

"I think I've improved in terms of tempo, with and without the ball. You become a better player when you play with good teammates and against good opponents and being pushed to the limit in training and in matches.

"I think I have developed well in general, but there is always room for improvement. For example, I would like to score even more goals and get into the box even more, although I like also place my teammates.

"I think I took a step forward in this regard last season, and I hope I can continue to move in the right direction."

Arsenal have also been given a boost in their pursuit of Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.
