2023 Census: Hackers Attack NPC Recruitment Portal
The National Population Commission (CNP) has foiled an attempt to hack its recruitment portal for the 2023 census.
The NPC Commissioner for Anambra, Chidi Ezeoke, made the revelation during a press conference in Awka.
Ezeoke said the NPC has set up a geo-fenced online digital portal to recruit staff from selected communities across Nigeria.
The official assured that the commission is committed to correcting the anomalies in order to ensure an accurate and reliable census next year.
"If the hackers haven't been able to do this, we want to make sure that it will be difficult for them to hack in the 2023 census.
"I am almost certain that the attempt, to a large extent, was foiled.
“When you try something new, people will try to circumvent your efforts,” NAN said, quoting him.
Joachim Ulasi, State Director of the NPC, refuted the alleged substitution of recruited officers, saying those who were dropped were those who were absent during the 12-day training.
