2023: Ekiti will compensate Tinubu, APC with votes, says vice governor

Ekiti State Deputy Governor Ms. Monisade Afuye assured the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council that party flag bearer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would get more 75% of the total votes cast in the state in the 2023 Election.

Afuye said so on Tuesday as he donated cash and consumables to Ogoga-in-council and across 11 local government wards in Ikere to mark Christmas and New Year festivities in Ikere -Ekiti.

She also gave 110 Ikere-Ekiti indigenes cash gifts to lift them out of poverty and donated a sum of N1.5 million to party members and leaders in all wards.< /p>

She described Tinubu as part of Ekiti, being an in-law, political leader and mentor to many great politicians of Ekiti descent, who deserved to be rewarded with votes in 2023.

She referred to Tinubu as one of the best minds and most experienced leaders with fervor to lead the country to prosperity, after the departure of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“I know that Senator Bola Tinubu will visit Ikere-Ekiti Ogoga whenever he is here in Ekiti State to campaign. I know that Ekiti and Ikere in particular will be declaring votes en bloc for him. We expect no less than 75% of the votes for our great leader in Ekiti.

"We all know that Tinubu is a leader who has the ability to build and nurture. He did it in Lagos, let him do it for Nigeria.

“Prepare your permanent voter cards to vote Tiunbu in the next presidential election, because he is ours in Ekiti,” Afuye said.

The Deputy Governor appreciated the voters of Ikere-Ekiti for their support for Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the last gubernatorial election, saying the votes garnered in the city boosted the chances of the party in the hotly contested ballot.

She also traveled to the 11 wards of Ikere-Ekiti to donate cash and consumables, solicited the support of APC National Assemblies and House of Assembly candidates in 1 constituencies and 2 from Ikere and throughout the Southern Senatorial District in bothersome polls.

She said the APC, which holds the majority in the National Assembly and the National Assembly, will facilitate governance and accelerate progress under the new government of Asiwaju Tinubu and the administration of Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti.

“You know we have a structure in Nigeria and Ekiti. The APC is the ruling party. The Assembly can cause problems for the President and the Governor if it is not dominated by the ruling party .

"I implore you, please forgive whatever some of our candidates may have done wrong in the past and vote for them. They will surely make the necessary amends.

"This is not a campaign, but a simple interaction and presentation of our candidates, who I know are better than our opponents' candidates in terms of character, background and commitment to the nation-building,” she said.

Lauding Ogoga of Ikere, Oba Adejimi Adu-Alagbado, for attracting development to the city, Afuye said, “Under your rule of a few years, Ikere-Ekiti has produced eight senior Nigerian lawyers and two women teachers.

“It was under your rule that I became Deputy Governor as a woman and we had a university. We are growing by leaps and bounds. came to appreciate you.

“I will continue to support Ikere-Ekiti. I am part of you. Governor Oyebanji and I will not let you down,” Afuye added.

Oba Adu-Alagbado called on the Ikere-Ekiti to forget the past and think ahead to make the city bigger, warning against the pull syndrome as seen in the past.
