Election 2023: Christians in the North interested in the unity of the region - President of the CAN

As the country moves closer to elections in 2023, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in 19 Northern States and the FCT, Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam, has said that the interest of Christians in the North is unity and peaceful cooperation. -existence of the region.

He revealed this 2022 during a three-day prayer summit organized by the CAN in the Northern States and the FCT, which was held at the Catholic Social Center in Kaduna.

Pam said, "The unity that guarantees interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence should be the pride of the north, regardless of our political leanings and affiliations."

Pam praised the presidential candidates for crossing Nigeria to solicit votes.

He urged all presidential candidates to stay focused and not be distracted.

He added: "They should strive to solve economic problems and propose solutions; they should avoid the slander and slander campaigns of their opponents."

He said presidential candidates should not view the 2023 general election as a do-or-die affair, as power comes only from God

Pam urged religious leaders to stand firm in the face of intimidation in this era of electoral process.

"We should be able to speak truth to power no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in, because whoever we mislead, we will have to answer for it one day," he said.
