2023: I wouldn't have been the APC standard bearer without the governments - Tinubu

All Progressives Congress, APC presidential standard bearer Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu said that without the due diligence of party governors, he would not have become a candidate.

"You have stood with me steadfastly in times of need in our party's primary contests and that has made me the APC's candidate and that is a great source of pride as others are still fighting against their governors," he said.

Speaking in a series of meetings with Ullamas and some pastors, Tinubu insisted that the position of governor over him gave him more courage and determination to aim for the exalted seat.

The APC presidential candidate, who blasted the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) for failing to realize after 16 years of leadership that power is the main driver of the national economy , has nothing new to offer.

He said: "The PDP has spent 16 years leading the nation, but unfortunately failed to understand that power is the main economic engine without which one will run a borrowed economy that will have no impact on its citizens".

Tinubu reminded PDP that over the past 16 years, they have spent $16 billion on electricity, but the country still faces frequent blackouts associated with transmission failures.

Tinubu further urged Nigerians not to vote for someone who will give them 50% of the attention and give the rest to Dubai.
