2023: The North pays the price for voting based on religion, ethnicity - LP's Yusuf Datti

Labour Party LP vice-presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed said northern Nigeria was paying an extremely high price for a vote based on religion and ethnicity.

The former lawmaker revealed this during 'The Peoples Townhall' hosted by Channels Television and its partners on Sunday. The party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi also made an appearance at the event.

Baba-Ahmed said he and Obi would work collectively to resolve all issues, including insecurity and corruption.

He said, “The day you hear the phrase 'President Peter Obi', Nigeria has already united. Once Nigerians are united, we will work collectively to solve all problems - insecurity, a failing economy and unprecedented worsening corruption.

“We truly deserve the votes of Nigerians as this is an election that proves to be a matter of character backed by background, skills and ability. This is clearly not meant to be an election on feelings of religion and ethnicity because right now Nigeria is paying a very high price; northern Nigeria is paying an extremely high price to vote on the basis of religion and ethnicity.

“We will stop the killing and start the healing; stop stealing, start guarding; stop the slide of our currency and begin the ascent of our society. »
