Presidency 2023: "The man of ideas", Afe Babalola praises Obi
Just a week after former President Olusegun Obasanjo endorsed Peter Obi, Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti, Afe Babalola (SAN) said that the flag bearer of the Labor Party was the most qualified candidate to lead Nigeria.< /p>
He made the claim during Obi's courtesy visit to his university on Thursday, in Ado-Ekiti.
According to him, the only opponents of Obi are those who participated in plunging the country into the state of underdevelopment that it is today.
"Unless you're part of the old system that got us to where we are, there's no way you're going against a young man like Mr. Peter Obi, a young man educated and intact with ideas of being the president of Nigeria,” he said.
The brain lawyer said he shares a similar attribute with Obi because of their passion for education.

"We have common ground, and that common ground is that he will give education a rightful place in his administration.
"Unlike all of you, I never had a conventional upbringing, I never went to high school, nor to university but by dint of determination and courage, I endured.
"I studied privately by correspondence and obtained my A Level by correspondence, passed university entrance by correspondence.
"Without education, I would not be where I am today and that is why by the grace of God after successful practice, I am who I am today.
“I will be celebrating 60 years since being called to the Bar this year and by the grace of God, Peter Obi will be there. He is the most qualified to lead this country,” Chief Afe said.
Tribune Online understands that the Labor Party presidential candidate has since enjoyed growing support from Nigerians, especially young people who have been calling for a better system devoid of the old order, since his emergence as the party's flag bearer in May 2022.
