WWC 2023: I predicted Oshoala would score against Australia - Waldrum
Super Falcons head coach Randy Waldrum said he had a hunch Asisat Oshoala would score in the 3-2 win over Australia.
Oshoala received a knock in the Super Falcons' opener against Canada and was a doubt for the match against Australia.
The Barcelona star, however, passed a late fitness test and was named among the substitutes.
The 28-year-old replaced Uchenna Kanu in the 64th minute.
The striker scored the third goal for the Super Falcons in the 72nd minute.
“I told Oshoala before the game that I needed her to give us the last thirty minutes. I felt very strongly that she was going to score a goal, and she scored the winning goal,” said said Waldrum after the game.
