What do you think of the killings in southern Kaduna?

It's unfortunate because the area is supposed to be a home for everyone, but others who came and were entertained resorted to inflicting harm on people. Unfortunately, these same people do not want to admit that they have done wrong. There is a story of murders that took place in southern Kaduna, but the most popular of them is the one in 1987 that took place at Kafanchan College of Education, which was cloned into something else, but we we have different types of conflicts going on. in southern Kaduna.

As someone from South Kaduna, I always wish to see that South Kaduna is peaceful and a place of joy, but people are suffering. The enemy's strategy is to divide and conquer. So even if they attack Bajju this time, next time they will go to Atyap, Marwa, and another time they will attack Chawai. Sometimes we are confused. This is the kind of suffering our people are going through. Sometimes I find the killings in southern Kaduna to be an unfortunate experience that our people are going through. The people of southern Kaduna have no industry apart from education and agriculture. Unfortunately, attacks and killings have disrupted both of these industries. Today, residents of southern Kaduna can no longer go to school or access their farmland because of these constant attacks.

Do you think the state government is doing enough to solve the problems?

To be honest with you, I don't really want to talk much about government right now because, do we really have government? Do we really have people who lead or care about people or do we have an institution called government that is not connected with people or cares about them? What the government is doing is simply using the media for propaganda purposes. I have read in some newspapers where people have been sent to south Kaduna and according to them they have come to investigate and confirm if the crises are real or fake and they are going to write what does not exist. It was I who buried my father, my son, my wife or any other relative and you tell me that no one was killed? Do you think we are just lying that I buried my father, my son or I just want to lie that people were killed in my village and they were buried? How the government handles the issue; instead of fulfilling the aspirations of the people or ending the killings, the government sponsors propaganda against the people.

So the reality is that even the governor (Nasir El-Rufai) is one of those the terrorists want to kill. Now the conversation is to pursue them and eliminate them altogether. Why haven't you eliminated them since? Even if you didn't wipe them out, there are steps the government would have taken to stop them growing wings, but since they grow wings and they're not even scared of anyone, that's what which I find difficult with the government. The reason we are here today is because of government failure.

Christians in southern Kaduna had direct experience of a Muslim-Muslim cadre in office. How did the Muslim-Muslim administration fare in engaging Christians and Muslims in the country?

The whole idea of ​​the Muslim-Muslim ticket is an insensitive decision, it's not a popular decision, it's not a decision to unite us, it's also not a decision to heal existing wounds nor a decision to restore sanity. To me, you know something is wrong, but you want to do it as long as you get what you want. Christians in Kaduna State can tell people who care to listen that Kaduna State has suffered many problems due to people not listening. Kaduna State fought for a very long time to correct this and the State got it corrected. The state was starting to emerge from the crisis until we found ourselves in post-election violence in 2011. If you say Muslim-Christian ticket, did that solve any problems? Yes, it fixed some issues. After the 2002 Miss World pageant, understanding started to come, people started to trust each other and peace returned to Kaduna State. Senator Ahmed Makarfi who is considered the best governor today, I remember his first time was hell because there was this distrust and lack of trust.
