3 dead and 7 injured in a car accident in Ogun

Three people, two adults and a male child lost their lives on Thursday, while seven were injured in an accident on the Abeokuta-Lagos highway.

In a statement made available to Saturday Tribune by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Education Officer Florence Okpe said that the accident involving a Toyota Camry and a commercial taxi, occurred in the early hours of the day.

The alleged cause of the accident was attributed to the excessive speed of the driver of the Toyota Corrolla, which crashed into the commercial cabin from behind.

She explained that the injured were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment while those presumed dead were dropped off at the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Abeokuta.

FRSC Sector Commander Ahmed Umar advised motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations.

He also pointed out the indiscriminate parking on the road and the danger involved.
