35-year-old man charged with assault on Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale after Spurs defeat
A 35-year-old man has been charged with assaulting Aaron Ramsdale during Sunday's game between Tottenham and Arsenal.
Ramsdale came under attack after his side secured a 2-0 victory over Tottenham in the Premier League.
Joseph Watts is charged with assault by beating, entering an area adjacent to the playing area and launching a missile at a football pitch, Metropolitan Police said.
Watts, from Hackney, was charged on Tuesday and is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates' Court on February 17.
Following Sunday's incident, the Football Association 'strongly condemned' what had happened, while Tottenham insisted that 'violence in any form has no place in football".
Police say the Met Football Investigation Team were assisted in their investigations by the club.
